Circuit Welcome

The Members of the Newton Abbot Methodist Circuit of Churches

welcome all those who have navigated their way to this part of the website.

We are a diverse group of churches and people, who endeavour to work together for the greater glory of God.

We would like to welcome you to as much of the life of our churches as you care to share with us.

Around the Circuit there are different sizes of churches and congregations, styles of worship, interest groups (both Christian & secular) and facilities – all within our churches and church halls. These are outlined under the entries for each individual church (found under the 'Circuit Churches' tab) and on the websites of those churches that have set up their own (found under the 'Links' tab).

Newton Abbot Methodist Circuit is in South Devon and covers an area of some 95 square miles, with 3 Methodist Churches in the market town of Newton Abbot (pop. 25,000.) (The Avenue, Shaldon Road & Keyberry Park ), one in the village of Ipplepen (pop. 2500), one in each of the moorland towns of Ashburton and Bovey Tracey (pops.3800 and 6600 resp.), and one in each of the moorland communities of Dunstone, Poundsgate and Ilsington. The main church in the Circuit is The Avenue, Newton Abbot, which is a Methodist/URC Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP).

The Superintendent Minister of the Newton Abbot Methodist Circuit is Rev. Edgar Daniel.
Our other Circuit Ministers are Rev. Kevin Hooke, Rev Denys Bament and Rev Malcolm Benton.  More information on our ministers can be found under the 'Leadership and Staff' tab.
