Monday Club

THE AVENUE MONDAY CLUB

On June 1st.forty of us took a moorland stroll—Cold East Cross to Buckland Beacon and back—followed by hot dogs and coffee or chocolate at Ilsington Chapel. After the heat of the day it was a perfect evening, there was a light breeze, we could see for miles and the ponies and foals grazed and played close by; quite unmoved by the crowd of walkers.

During this session we have heard about Faberge Eggs and Barge Painting, Looking after our Skin, Recycling in Teignbridge and the Hanging Around kind of Bats. After our Easter Meditation with Tim Woods I am sure we all have a better understanding of the difficult situation in the Holy Land at the moment.

At our recent A.G.M I retired as secretary, I shall be passing the books over to Dulcie Purchase with my best wishes. I have enjoyed the challenge, but I could not have done it without a hardworking committee, who I know will support my successor as they did me. Thank you to the committee, and to all the members who keep coming to our evenings.

The new session will start on 21st September 2009 so do come along and see what is on the programme for next year, a warm welcome awaits you.
