Bovey Tracey is a small pleasant country town known as ‘The Gateway to the Moor’ and attracts many visitors particularly to the arts and crafts businesses. There has been, and continues to be, quite a lot of residential building – the population being in the region of 6000. The Church is centrally placed and has ample parking facilities. Services are held morning and evening every Sunday. The church is well maintained has a very pleasant sanctuary, and is well equipped with ancillary rooms, including a moderately large hall, which is widely used by various associations in the town. We are mainly a retired congregation of about 80, with a small junior church and an active Boys Brigade. It is a very caring and loving church both within its congregation and in the community around it. It has a joint fortnightly Wesley Guild which meets alternately with a small moorland church in the Circuit, and an active Women’s Fellowship. There is a good Pastoral Team. There are three Housegroups, which meet regularly, and the church joins weekly with the four other churches in the town for prayer under the banner of Christians Together in Bovey Tracey, and is an active participant in this ecumenical work. We also meet independently for prayer before the evening service.
